Their response is almost always: “Oh, I just read it because X-23’s hot.”
Bask in the absurdity of that statement for a minute. Let it marinate…good? Okay, because it’s about to get worse.
WITHOUT FAIL the guys…
I can tell you, having got used to this kind of grossness IN THE COMICS as well as in the fandom has made it SUPER hard to think of entry-comics to recommend to twelve-thirteen year olds. I’ve gotten used to gritting my teeth and de-programming myself as I read, but do I want to pass that on to kids who are younger than when I started reading American comics? No! No way. I don’t want to only rec them “kiddie titles”, but I don’t want boob socks and the spirits of creator-dudes leering at them out of the pages, either.
